
Driving Clean Assistance Program - CC4A Scrap and Replace
For individuals without a vehicle to scrap DCAP is closed to all applicants except those that reside in a disadvantaged (DAC) or low income community (LIC) as defined by the California Climate Investments Priority Populations Mapping Tool 4.0.
California residents can receive up to $7,500 to purchase or lease a new or used electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, or up to $12,000 for applicants also scrapping an old vehicle (must meet model year restrictions and other eligibility requirements). Additionally, the program offers up to $2,000 toward a home EV charger or public charging credits. There is also a Mobility Option, which allows participants to go "car-free" and receive up to $2,000 in value for public transit or the purchase of an e-bike.

The application review process can take up to 30 days from the date of submission. However high application volume may cause further delays. Participants who reside in a Disadvantaged Community (DAC) will have priority. For more information on the needs-based processing please see the consumer guide.Required documents for this program
